Disclosure of Affiliate Links:

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means that by clicking/purchasing through the link I will earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. The links are provided for items that I have purchased before and that I trust enough to recommend to my mother or best friend, so if there’s an item that is essential to my cooking or entertaining and I absolutely love it, I can’t help but want to share that information with those whom I care about, which includes my readers. If I were to post a link to an item I have not personally purchased, I will specify in the post near the link that I have not used the product personally, but it is either something I admire, want to purchase, or is relevant and enriching to the subject matter of the post. When I post links to anything, regardless of whether it’s an affiliate link or not, I want it to add value to readers. The reason why I choose to have some affiliate links is because there are real expenses associated with running this site, and even if some of the costs could be offset, that frees up more opportunity to enhance the site further to make it easier to use as a tool for your cooking and entertaining needs! If you ever have any questions about this, don’t hesitate to send me an email.

    Hi Emily,
Have you ever seen a “healthy” au jus recipe? My crock pot roast calls for a packet of “au jus” but it is chocked full of chemicals. Thanks!

For a crockpot recipe, I’d try replacing that Au Jus packet with 2C beef broth, 1/2C red wine, and a tablespoon of worcestershire whisked together. No artificial flavorings or chemicals with that mixture!
